Forest Mystery Swap 1

A great group of stampers on SCS have come together to have a mystery swap group. Each member of the group will be sent the same mystery item(s).  The theory of the swap it to see how everyone creates differently, with the same mystery item(s).

This is our first swap!   Our mystery item(s) are from My Favorite Things.  The stamp is Fred Bear Goes Camping. This image was chosen by Jeanette, who has a great blog you will want to visit.

Here is my mystery card for this swap:

The card base is Speckletone card stock in Chocolate.  The second layer is Stampin' UP! Really Rust that has been embossed with the Tim Holtz folder Woodgrain in my Cuttlebug.  I rubbed the embossed grain with Stampin' UP! Really Rust ink.   The DP is from Sandylion.

I used a Martha Stewart leaf punch on various scraps of card stock to create the leaves Fred is sitting upon.   I distressed the leaves with Really Rust ink as well.  I rubbed ink on the sentiment to distress the look of the paper.

I colored Fred and the fire with Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils.  For the flames I used Tim Holtz Distressed Stickles as well as regular Stickles to mute the glitter.  The eyelets and hemp cord, I had on hand.

I really enjoyed working with the images and cannot wait for the next mystery package to arrive! Thanks for taking a peek.

Card entered into the following challenge(s):   2 Sisters Challenge Blog, Mark's Finest Papers, Meljen's Design Team Challenge Blog, Tuesday Throwdown, I Did It Creations, Top Tip Tuesday, The Cuttlebug Spot, Cards For Men, The Pink Elephant, Let's Ink It Up, Crafty Ho's Challenge Blog

Boo!

Here I am again, saying that I have not had a blog post in a month!   I really am trying to get better.  I promise!

Halloween is just around the corner.  All of our fall decorations have been displayed and I have enjoyed the colors and candle scents.

In looking at the calendar, I needed to start on my Halloween cards for adequate mail time.  I have had the supplies for quite some time, just needed a layout and to actually make them.  Here is the card I created yesterday:

I had the gray cardstock for the card base on hand.  The black layer is Stampin' UP! Basic Black.  I used Heidi Grace Designs DP in Jeepers Creepers, which is doubled sided paper.

I used an EK Success border punch, and then added Ranger Enamel dots in white.   It is the first time that I worked with the enamel.   It is a really cool product.   If you are going to use it, do plan on an overnight dry time.  The ribbon is from Offray in Pewter.

The interior of the card utilized the second side of the DP, with stripes behind the punched edge.  I used my Cuttlebug to cut out the candy piece and embossed it with the Disney Tricks-n-Treats die cut and embossing folder.

Thanks for checking in and I hope that you have a great fall!
