Santa....Yep, I said Santa!

I know that I keep saying this, but really I cannot believe that Christmas is a little over one month away!

I joined a Santa themed swap on SCS.  I then realized this week, that I need to shift into gear and get these Santa cards completed.

I have to admit that you are getting a big sneak peek to my Christmas cards this year, as I used some of the extras that I made.   Shhhh don't tell anyone!  The tags will be different on the Christmas cards.

Here are two pictures of the Santa cards.  I will give the paper and embellishment details on the Christmas posting.

Thanks, for taking a peek.   Okay, I still cannot believe that Christmas is a little over a month away......

Thanksgiving

I can hardly believe that Thanksgiving is just a few short weeks away.   It really hit home when I visited the grocery store early this week and all of the traditional items were placed around.

At first glance, I had thought 'Oh, that is a little early'.....then 'Oh, it is a lot closer than I think'.....then 'Oh, I had better get my Thanksgiving cards done!'.

I had purchased the worded DP several months ago as I like the verbiage.  Of course I did not notice until today, that the word Thanksgiving is printed blurry!  On another shopping trip, I had come across the leaf brads.   I worked the rest of the card around those two items.

The cardstock base and green layer were cardstock that I had on hand.  I just love the green color.   I am going to have to purchase more of that color.  Unfortunately, it is from a paper store 30 miles from home! Both DP's are from DCWV.

The leaf brads are Reflections from Michael's.  The rhinestones are from Studio 18 (the dollar bin) at Michaels.   It is the first time I have used them.   While I like the size, the glue dots they use move around quite a bit.

The leaf stamp is from Stampin' UP! Tags n More, circa 2001.   I wet embossed the leaf with Versa Mark and gold embossing powder.   To tone down the shiny gold, I rubbed a chalk ink over the embossing.   I sponged coordinating colors within the leaf.

I hope that you all have a great Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends.  We all have so much to be thankful for!

Crockpot Recipe Swap

Hello!  I am so working on trying to get everything done on my 'items to make' list.   I joined a swap on SCS that is for Crockpot recipes.  I love me some Crockpot, so thought it would be a fun swap.  Although I have to wait until January to receive the awesome recipes back, it will be worth the wait.

Here is the recipe card that I contributed to the swap.

I used some Bazzill cardstock that I had on hand for the red and taupe layers.   The green is Always Artichoke from Stampin' UP!  The DP is from Anna Griffin.  It is hard to see in the photo, but the paper the recipe is printed upon has a light taupe pattern.

I used the Cuttlebug embossing folder on the green layer, in Herringbone.  The circle disk is from the Sizzix Medallions Damask.  I used an EK Success scalloped punch for the decorative circle.

I hope the recipients like the cards.  I cannot wait to receive theirs!  Thanks, for stopping by.
