Keep on Truckin'

Hello!

I remembered that I needed to make a quick birthday card last night, as there was not the perfect card in my stash - which is dwindling by the way!   It was late, so my creativity was a 'lil bit slow, imagine that.

I went with the same layout that I used on the Dueling Darlings card this month.   Since this was a masculine card, I did not put the double rhinestones on, but added an additional piece of the DP in the upper right corner and added a metal eyelet.

Our friend's son Jacob, is shopping for his first car.  He would like to get an older car he can restore {think big engine}.  I remembered what I believe is a Stampin' UP! image, that I received in an image swap, that might work for this card.  We would like him to get a seriously padded car that goes no more than two miles per hour!

Have a great day!

Dueling Darlings - October

I am so excited to be hosting the month of October for the Divas!   We are all so lucky to have such a creative group to duel with.   Darlene, was my partner for the Dazzlers.  We had so much fun planning our kits for this month.   Darlene, is the perfect partner!

Surprise!!!!  Both groups have the same image this month {isn't he just the perfect pumpkin pulling boy?!}.   Darlene and I thought it would be really fun to see how the same image would be used, via two different kits.

So you know, that Darlene and I thought we were being so very crafty planning early and all.   Well, it is a good thing we did as all did not go as planned!  Darlene, is the lucky girl to have the cuter than cute image.   I was the girl with the Copic friendly paper.   Together we thought we were supah - actually not so much!   I cut the paper and sent it to Darlene.   She stamped the images and sent the Diva's images back to me.   Well.....the good 'ole USPS....yeppers, show the package delivered and it never arrived!   We wait a little bit, no package.  Good thing the owner of the postal store is our friend.  I have him on speed dial....is my package there yet.....is my package there yet???  I did not have the heart to tell him they were pieces of paper that were rubber stamped!  He would think I had gone around the bend!   LOL    Solution:  Darlene stamps the images all over again and re-sends via overnight mail.  I get the second package and you know as you know, that the original package showed up the very next day!   Thus, the Diva's received a bunch of images in their kits!   Darlene, gets an 'E' for stamping and mailing efforts!!!!

I am still struggling with the fact that it is fall already and Halloween is in two weeks.  Where has the time gone this year?!   It is time to dig out some favorite recipes.   Darlene and I thought it would be fun to have everyone post a favorite fall recipe.  This way we get great ideas for our images and a little sumpin' sumpin' to think about eating!

You know that I have to post a recipe that I will not eat!   LOL   Stop laughing, Jeanette!   It is a side dish that is really easy to make and if you like the contents, I am told is awesome.   It hails from a cookbook that is titled A Taste of Oregon.   Sssshhhh don't tell anyone, but when I prepare this I really do hold my nose with one hand and can mix it in the KitchenAid with the other!

Sweet Potato Delight

Base

3 C cooked {may use canned} mashed sweet potatoes
1 C white sugar
2 eggs well beaten
1 Tsp vanilla
1/4 C whole milk
1/2 C butter

Topping

1 C packed light brown sugar
1/3 C flour
1 C chopped pecans
1/3 C butter

Mix all base ingredients together and pour into a buttered 2 quart casserole dish.   Mix topping ingredients together and sprinkle over casserole in dish.    Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.   Serves 6 to 8.

While I am not fond of sweet potatoes, I am of our image this round.  I do hope that you enjoyed the challenge and duel.  I look forward to seeing your creations in and out of the kitchen!

Please view the dueling results at the Diva and Dazzler blogs.  Their links are on the right sidebar.  You will be amazed!
