Distressed Paint Card

Mother's Day is just around the corner, so I thought I had better get going on that card for my Mom!   Here is what came to be for her:

The card stock base is Stampin' Up! Blush Blossom.  The second layer is Stampin' Up! Basic Black. 

The Stampin' Up! image was stamped onto Conqueror CX22 Diamond White card stock and colored with Copic Markers.  To add some dimension, I used Stampin' Up! Crystal Effects.

I used the Cuttlebug embossing folder Distressed Stripes on the black layer.  The eyelets and ribbon I had on hand.

The distressed layer is white card stock painted with Ranger Distress Paint in Tattered Rose.  I had used the paint once prior.  I found that it is easier to just paint the paper a few days in advance and let it dry.  The paper curls a bit and then smoothes out some.   Once dry, I cut to size and inked the edges of the paper in black ink.  The photo below shows the paint and image closer.
