Calendar Girls - April

It is time for the Calendar Girls from SCS to post their April projects.   Fun stuff!

Terry, was our hostess for the month of April.   She put out a challenge for us all right.   It was to replicate a barn quilt.   A who?!   Oh my.   Remember, I am the girl that struggles with the Sew Easy and now I have to do something with a quilt?!  Hold my hand please....

Thankfully, Terry gave us some examples of barn quilts.  I have never seen a barn quilt in my life!  Who knew?!  They are so pretty.  There must be barn quilt software out there.  Why doesn't everyone in the country have a barn quilt?

Our challenge was to create a card with one of four predetermined barn quilt layouts.   Okay, I'll put it out there again, I really cannot measure my way out of a paper bag {remember the two ticks past a three and so on?}.  How am I going to make quilt squares and triangles?  Please send a card kit....

I looked at the four examples and determined that the squares with strips would be the easiest.  Wrong.  Scrap that!  I ended up with another.   Then it took a totally different direction from a ladybug theme to Christmas.  Huh?  Yeah, well I gave up asking why, I just gotta get through this challenge!  LOL

I was able to use two little gifts from previous card kits to complete the card.  Hopefully, I did not hack the challenge too much!

Please be sure to check out the other barn quilt creations.  The Calendar Girls blog links are on the right sidebar.  Thanks, for stopping by!

I feel so countrified....Heck, if Lionel Richie can go country.....count me in!

Twisted Tuesday Challenge

Well, it looks like my ignoring Blogger's layout changes has come to an end!   It is an all new format here for me.   I hope I pass the test!   LOL

There is a challenge at Twisted Tuesday Challenges.   I used the basis of the challenge {red, green and pink colors, three brads and one ribbon} to create this card.   Albeit, my red color is Stampin' UP! Ruby Red and I have one type of ribbon in three places, I hope I pass this test too!  A little shout out to my friend Darlene, who gifted me with the pretty butterfly die cut.

I do hope that you are having a good day and have a great week ahead.

Dueling Darlings - April

Hello Everyone!

The Diva's and Dazzler's are here for our monthly Duel for the Dueling Darlings on SCS.   Our hostess this month for the Diva's was LJ.

LJ, sent us a kit themed for a masculine card.   I heard a few virtual gasps out there.   Why is it that we view masculine cards as such a challenge?!  The recipients are probably our least critical!  Example, DH looks at a card created with a Magnolia image.   Instead of the overall card comment, he asks why she has no mouth.   I have no answer....so what do ya think of the card?

Our kit was chalk full of goodies.  The image is from A*Muse, Hey Man.  If you want to check out the A*Muse cuteness, stop by and see my friend Jeanette, she is a consultant for them.  The DP is from Little Yellow Bicycle Paradise Collection.  Fun!  So cute that I had to make two of this card.

The non card portion of the challenge this month was to give a shout out to a guy in our life.  I will have to go with my Dad.   He is the best!!!  My goodness my brother and I put him through some stuff!  He was a great provider for our family.  Looking back now, he always had a dance for me to stand on his feet when he came home from work dog tired, let me take his 'restaurant' order and I would come back with some random thing from the kitchen and he would act like it was grand and eat it, would take me fishing for the day and I could eat anything I wanted and has always made me laugh.  Like I said, he is the best!

Here is my card for this month's challenge.   I hope Daddy O likes it!  Be sure and check out all the Dueling Darlings creations.   Their blog links are on the right side bar.

Unidentified Image Swap - April

There is a new group of girls in the SCS swapping world.  We may know who the swappers are, but not what the image is.   The new group of Unidentified Image Swap Girls are ready to post our first creation!  There are currently 30 of us crafting it out!

Our first host and creator of the group is, Barb.  We were gifted an adorable image from Gina K. Designs.  This cute little duck is from the Spring Has Sprung set.  I used a little sentiment from a Hero Arts stamp set to complete the card.

Here's looking to April showers to bring May flowers!

Little Bunny Foo Foo

Easter is just a few days away.   I know I keep saying it, but I can hardly believe that the first quarter of 2012 is gone!   Yikers!!!!

I made some Easter cards for our immediate family.   They are hoppin' their way to our peeps right now!

I used two dollar bin rubber stamps, that I purchased last year after Easter.  They were only a quarter each!

I have been on this plaid envy kick of late.  I have seen others use plaid DP and I wanted to as well!   I did purchase the paper, as I do not seem to have many plaid or Easterish pastel papers.

I also came across my make shift paper light box, so I thought I would try it out for my photo.  It is pretty intricate ya know, three pieces of paper taped together {gaps included} and two score marks.  We are pretty sophisticated here!  For a 'light box' it still has some shadows!   LOL

I do hope that you have a great Easter weekend.  Thanks, for stopping by!
