Calendar Girls - April

It is time for the Calendar Girls from SCS to post their April projects.   Fun stuff!

Terry, was our hostess for the month of April.   She put out a challenge for us all right.   It was to replicate a barn quilt.   A who?!   Oh my.   Remember, I am the girl that struggles with the Sew Easy and now I have to do something with a quilt?!  Hold my hand please....

Thankfully, Terry gave us some examples of barn quilts.  I have never seen a barn quilt in my life!  Who knew?!  They are so pretty.  There must be barn quilt software out there.  Why doesn't everyone in the country have a barn quilt?

Our challenge was to create a card with one of four predetermined barn quilt layouts.   Okay, I'll put it out there again, I really cannot measure my way out of a paper bag {remember the two ticks past a three and so on?}.  How am I going to make quilt squares and triangles?  Please send a card kit....

I looked at the four examples and determined that the squares with strips would be the easiest.  Wrong.  Scrap that!  I ended up with another.   Then it took a totally different direction from a ladybug theme to Christmas.  Huh?  Yeah, well I gave up asking why, I just gotta get through this challenge!  LOL

I was able to use two little gifts from previous card kits to complete the card.  Hopefully, I did not hack the challenge too much!

Please be sure to check out the other barn quilt creations.  The Calendar Girls blog links are on the right sidebar.  Thanks, for stopping by!

I feel so countrified....Heck, if Lionel Richie can go country.....count me in!
