Dueling Darlings - June

Hello my friends!   I have to apologize for my delay in getting my Dueling Darlings card posted this month.   It was a busy week and weekend.  I am glad to say that all is accomplished {albeit a smidge late on some} and the list is checked!

Our kit for the SCS Diva's was gifted by, Jamie.  She send the best kit, thank you!  I loved the theme, papers and that she send the entire kit in blue AND brown.  We're so dang lucky!!!

I created two of this card.  Yes, on top of all of the above Jamie, sent enough to make two cards in each color.  There were some great images in addition to the one that I used on this card.  A great world nautical theme.

The challenge portion of the kit was to mention a special guy in our life.  I gave this card to my dad.  I am so very lucky to have a great dad.  He is the best!  I appreciate all that he has provided for our family, the care he gives to my mom, how he slyly checks to make sure I have enough gas in the car to get home when I visit, how he thought ahead to buy me some orange Tic Tacs {and it was the big box because he knew I would eat them all} when we ran errands last,  the patience he has when my grandma calls that she urgently needs toothpaste and has three tubes already and how he worries that I am driving somewhere when it is dark outside.  All in all, I think it is probably best he never met that boy that was in a band that I dated way back when!   LOL  Oh, and if any of you know how to get him off of purchasing the 10 for $10 items at the grocery store, I am looking for ideas!

I hope that you all had a great Father's Day, while in person, by distance or fond memory. Please check out all of the Dueling Darlings creations.  Their blog links are on the right sidebar.  Thanks, for stopping by!

Oh my, what a regal card you have created with this wonderful kit - love your take on this! I like how you added the compass as the focal point and let the words do the talking ;) (they made me teary eyed!) Beautifully done, my friend - many blessings! x0x0

Love it Tami! I absolutely love the plaid paper and the colors! Your layout is cool too.....love the layers, how you used the ribbon, the crystals and last but not least I think I love your dad. He sounds alot like mine and it sounds like he really loves you ☺ You are lucky!! BTW - does he know that he doesn't have to buy 10 just because it's 10 for $10??

Great job tami!!!

Hi Tami! Super card...so worth the wait to see it. You really put the elements from the kit together is such a pleasing and original way. Love how you used the tag as the focal image!!

Love your description of your dad! He sounds like a super great dad...reminds me a bit of my dad when he was alive. Treasure the moments you have with him.

I'm heading up your way in the next couple days. Want me to bring some sunshine???

Ok. Love the color theme. Love the layout. Love your post! Are you sensing a theme here, GF?
A special card for a special man.
And do NOT tell him about the boy in the band, what's the point?! LOL

Hi

What a wonderful card you have created for your Dad.

I find masculine card so difficult to make but you have truly mastered it.

Great papers and a fab layout.

What a striking card, Tami... and most of all, I enjoyed reading about your dad. Sounds like he's an incredible guy - who raised an incredible daughter!
