Mystery Challenge - July

The Mystery Challenge for July is on at SCS!

Our hostess this month is, Kate.   She gifted us an image from Stampin' UP! called Pony Party.   Oh my, I have never worked with a pony image before!!!    Challenge!

The first thing that came to me was a barn.  I was going to put that pony away!   LOL  I have seen a bunch of postings lately with punch art.  I am so amazed at what everyone thinks of.  I found I am a bit pony and punch challenged, so I had to think outside of the box on this one.

I colored the pony with Copics.   I then used Distressed Stickles on the mane, as I did not want it too glittery.   I don't know about you, but I do not like working with the Distressed Stickles.  I like the end result, but they are hard to work with.   They seem to come out in big blobs for me, unlike regular Stickles which I love.

I drew a barn template and cut out some barns.  I added some trim and cut out a door.  I used a brad to keep the door open.  We still needed to see the pretty pony!   I ran the barns through the Cuttlebug with the Tim Holtz wood grain embossing folder.  I punched the heart in the top of the barn because isn't there supposed to be a loft there or something?  Well, we have a girly heart for a loft opening.   Then I thought I have to stamp something....so a little flower and every flower needs some bling, so a rhinestone.  Add some older than dirt Stampin' UP! DP, some grass and an embellie and we are good to go!

You know that this made me think of Mustang Sally!!!   There were once five girls at a blues bar....there was singing and a stage.....one of them still gets called Mustang Sally.....hhhmmmmm!

I am looking forward to seeing all of the other ideas that were had for our pony.  Have a great day!
