Crafters of Faith - December

It is hard to believe that this will be the last post for the year 2012!   The year sure seemed to fly by. One great addition for me this year, was becoming a part of the Crafters of Faith group on SCS.  I so enjoy crafting and chatting with these ladies, thank you!

Our challenge from Miss Kelly for December, was to create a card with the following parameters:

For our December challenge, we wish to "SNOW" you our winter inspired Crafter of Faith cards!

COF sisters: Create a card/project using a snowy-winter theme and "ring in the new year with glitter and bling!" Your winter/snow card creation should reflect the beauty of the gift of the season - snow, winter, snowflakes, etc and include bling and glitter to ring in the joy of what will be!

I am lucky enough to be a part of another crafting group on Facebook.  I received the most generous little gift pack that I thought to use for this challenge, thank you Miss Edith.   There were pre-printed punch out items that I had not worked with much before, so wanted to dig in and try them.  I tried to get the photograph to depict the foil(s) on the paper punches.  They are so pretty in natural light.  I also liked the use of a different hue of green.

I seem to have had challenges abound on this COF task.   Let's forget that I created a card off of my memory of what the challenge was this month and it had NOTHING to do with the challenge!   LOL   Then I chose this great DP to work with for the pretty glitter and there was a portion of the DP that the glitter was not printed on {this of course was noticed when I was trying to put the card together and had to change the layout}.  Then I used those great rhinestones that are attached to string only to have the sticky backing pull off and I had to glue it on.   So, please notice the uber pretty snowflake - which had no problems at all - and met the winter inspiration of the challenge!   {wink}

Have a safe New Years Eve!

Calendar Girls - December

I do hope that you all had a great Christmas holiday.  The Calendar Girls are still in the winter spirit for our monthly posting today.

Kelly, gave us a great little challenge for this round.  We were to use the color blue, silver and snowflakes.   Pretty!

As you know, I really try to shop myself first.   I came up empty handed on this one!  I did not have much of anything blue that was snow related.  Oh my what a pity, I had to get some paper!!!  LOL
I was able to find the neatest piece of DP from Echo Park {Winter Wishes}.   It was blue AND had snowflakes!  Yay me!

I wanted to feature the paper itself on this card, so I just used a small little stamp in the corner.  I even found a stray piece of silver cord that was just long enough in my hella stuffed bag of ribbon bits from who knows what or where!

Put your boots on and take a winter walk to see all of the Calendar Girls blogs.  Their links are on the right side bar.   You will enjoy your walk!

Thanks, for stopping by....

Merry & Not So Bright

Hello!  I hope that you all had a great Christmas.

Here I thought that I was being so on target, but found that I am merry, but not so bright!   LOL  Let me explain.  I had all of the end of the month challenges I need to make cards for in my head.  Big mistake this time of year.  I created a card for the Crafter's of Faith monthly challenge on SCS and it does not even come close to the actual challenge!

With that said, I will let you know that I tried to pay homage to a few of the recent cards of the girls in the COF group in this card.   Sharon, had used some great musical note DP and look what I found, some great musical note DP!   Mary Rose, had a picture of her Christmas tree and some homemade garland, so I fashioned a tree with garland.  The one thing I did get right was there needed to be some bling, so I put some rhinestones on the ornaments for a subtle bling.   Carolina, had a cute snowman card with colors that are similar to the ones that I used.

So, you look at the tree card and I will run and see what I can muster up for the challenge!

Dueling Darlings - December

It's a December duel!  The Dueling Darlings on SCS are spreading some Christmas cheer - join us!

Barb, was the hostess for this month.  She was also the Swapper of the Month on SCS.   Congratulations, Barb!

If you know Barb, you know that she loves Whipper Snapper stamps.   Of course our image was from Whipper Snapper {Downhill Snowman}.  Isn't he just cute?!

Our kit was chalk full of great papers and embellishments.  We were actually very spoiled.  Thank you, Barb!

Another portion of our challenge was to share a little 'Winter Travel' story.   Okay, so during high school and after at our local mountain ski resort there would be an annual party called Pray for Snow.  Everyone went to PFS.  It was the biggest party ever!  Oh the things that happened there - it was like Las Vegas - what happens at PFS stayed at PFS!  The mountain is about an hour drive away.  It was like the city moved to the mountain.  There were people in campers, motor homes, trailers, ATV's, anything you could think of.  The PFS parties really kind of got out of control over the years and have since died down and have become more sanctioned events.   Probably for the good, but were a fun winter memory!  Oh, were we supposed to tell a nice family story.....LOL  :)

Please be sure to visit the other Dueling Darlings blogs to see what they created.  Their blog listings are located on the right side bar.  While you are cruising the blogs you may want to listen to this song by Bush, Sound of Winter. I really like it.

Do take time to chase the snowflakes!

Unidentified Image Swap - December

We were gifted the cutest image for the December round of the Unidentified Image Swap on SCS!

This adorable snowman was sent to us from, Jeanette.  The little 'country' type hearts on the image made me think of some heart DP that I had.   Well, the rest just went together.   I colored this image first, which the frame took a bit, so the cards for the swap have a bit different color up for the frame.

I enjoyed playing with this cute image and cannot wait to see what the other girls have created with it.  Thanks, for stopping by!
