Cherry on Top

Isn't this a fun stamp set?  My friend brought it to our last stamp get together.  I believe it is from Stamping' UP!   We used chalk ink to stamp a few images off.  Oh, that ink makes me batty!  It smears, so I tried my best to not touch the image.

I made a few of these quick birthday cards and now I want some ice cream!  LOL  Funny how that works...

Dueling Darlings - October

Shut the front door!  I am now officially caught up with the Dueling Darlings on SCS!

Thanks so much for waiting LJ, for your kit to be used on the October card from me.   The MFT image that you included was so adorable.  I had fun coloring her up.  It has been awhile since I have colored - unless you count revision marks on contracts!  LOL  The doily was so cute that I had to cut it  in half, so I could use the other half again on a card.  I put a little piece of black paper on the back to show the detail and fussy cut the edges.  You never know what someone is doing when they are on a conference call, now do you?!

In my theme of 'use what'cha got', this one takes the cake!  The purple layer of card stock is from - wait for it - the late 90's!!!  How do I know this?  It was a part of a pack of the first paper that I ever bought.   The whole pack was way too thin of card stock, because of course I had no idea what I was doing. The paper hoarder in me could not just toss it out and recycle it.  I have managed to use all of the pack as layers over time and this was the last piece!  It took so long as it was pack of bright colored card stock, which is pretty, but I found colors that I do not gravitate to work with.  It really was a bad purchase, as it made me mad it was not what I was looking for and to go on an exclusive buying spree from Stampin' UP! for the next several years.   Turned out to be an expensive little pack of paper!

I don't know about you, but I have ONE Halloween card done for this year!   The benefits of being the tardy girl!  Now what paper crafting item do you have that is old and can use?  Dig it out!!!

Thanks, for stopping by...

Dueling Darlings - November

Our sweet girl Kadie, gifted me a great kit for the Dueling Darlings on SCS last November.  Yes, I said November!   I am a smidgen - okay more than a smidgen - behind!  I am thankful, that the Dueling Darlings are so patient with me.

I just love some of the colors that Kadie gave us to work with.  Thanks, Kadie!

Have a great day~

Sssshhh, It's a Secret!

Don't tell anyone!   I had a smidgen of time and made my Valentine's Day cards.   I know....kinda like old times when I had projects done in advance. Ahhhh, the good 'ole days!  LOL   I am going to get back there!!!

I scaled back and made just six of this card.  I normally do not use them, but I had one of the cheap dollar clear stamp sets, that I picked up after the holiday last year for $.10.   I find they do stamp better with Memento ink, but still are not the most solid lines.  I do really like how you can position the clear stamps on the acrylic blocks, as the birds and the words are two separate stamps.

I had one sheet of this 12 x 12 paper from Carta Bella, Words of Love.   I normally use what I got, but I did not have much in the Valentine's arena.   I challenged myself to use one sheet at $.99.  I was able to make all six cards with one sheet!  I made the dimensions smaller and used the scrap pieces on the second side {polka dots} for an additional layer.

So, here are my $1.09, plus paper, cards!  That is $.18 each, plus paper.  My kinda price!

xoxo

Dueling Darlings - January

Hello!

I am sure you have nearly forgotten me.  I have not been able to find time to craft in oh so long.   I am going to do my best to keep up with the Dueling Darlings.  Thanks, for bearing with me!

Our hostess this month for the Divas is Judy.  She asked that we create a card with the theme of birthdays.   There were so many fun items in the kit, I could have made a bunch of cards....oh only to have the time!   I needed a card for a ten year old, so here is the card that I created for her.

Thank you Judy, for the wonderful kit and I cannot wait to see what the group has created.  Their blog links are on the right sidebar....go check them out!

Have a great day!
