Dueling Darlings - October

Kindness.  It was the theme for the Dueling Darlings from SCS for October.   Kelly sent out the sweetest kit.  The image was from Unity Stamp Company.

There are so many opportunities to witness and take part in acts of kindness, especially this time of year.  Just a smile, a "have a good day", a thank you, is all that it takes to possibly change someones day.

Thanks for the reminder, Kels!

Have a great day!!!!

Dueling Darlings - September

Hello!  I am so glad to be able to say hi to you all.   I am working hard to catch up with the Dueling Darlings on SCS.   Those girls are the best and most patient of girls, waiting on my busy schedule.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Suzy, sent the perfect fall kit to us.  Pretty sunflowers to work with.   I loved all of the harvest colors in the kit.  Thank you, Suzy.   I was able to use a few of the embellies provided in the kit.  I drug out my Copic markers and hoped that they were not too dried out!  It has been awhile ya know...

Here is my card:

While the busy past few months have flown by, we did get to do one fun thing!  We took a trip to Phoenix and did some hiking.  The colors from the kit reminded me of a quick hike that we took.

Now you know, I could go billy goat climb on the side of a rock with a backpack, but twisted my ankle in the Cabela's store the night before!  Only me....   Cabela's having been my dad's favorite store.  They asked if we were interested in becoming Cabela Club members.  Little did they know, I already have the hat from my dad.  LOL

Have a great day!

Dueling Darlings - August

It is duel day for the Dueling Darlings from SCS!  Terry and I are hosting this month.  We wanted to have fun, so are going with a humor image.  We found that we both have the same stamp set, so each sent out one of the main images from the set.   We thought it would be fun to see how the set is used.   Art Impressions "Wine Divas" are the images we are creating with.

It is my first time using this set I was gifted.  It is so fun!  I thought I would try and create a 'room' with our wine gal in her chair.  I tilted her chair as she was laughing and it looks a bit like she is leaning to tip over - maybe from too much wine!  You know I used DP that I had on hand to create the kits for the Divas.  Only one sheet of DP left for me, so I did not have much of a choice on the wallpaper.

Wishing I could share a glass of wine with my Dueling Darlings, but for now we will have to settle for a blog post visit.  I cannot wait to see what has been created.   Blog links are on the right side bar, go and check out the girls!

Cheers!

Dueling Darlings - July

To bee or not to bee.....that was the question from the Dueling Darlings on SCS for July.  My answer is for sure, to bee!

Of course it made me think of the Bee Gees.  So, I had to listed to this.  Oh, the strutting kills me in the video.  Apparently, the video budget went to white pants!

Bees were the theme for the kits we received.    Terry S, sent the absolute cutest images.  Thank you, Terry.  I really had a hard time deciding which to use.  Wishing I had time to create with both.   I chose the image from CC Designs Bee Heidi.   And don't get me started on those black epoxy dots from the kit. I could pet them all day long,  Love them!

I am late to bee at the party for July.  I am anxious to see what everyone has created, now that I have completed my card.   I am off to check them out.   If you have not already, you can too.  The blog links are on the right side bar.

Bee cool!

Dueling Darlings - June

Okay, so I am about a week off.   Well maybe more is off than that!   LOL   I am just getting posted for the Dueling Darlings on SCS.

Carol, sent us a great assortment of rose images.  I just saw this image from Gina K and thought it looked like it went with the DP perfectly.

The image was crisp in lines and the black card stock a true black.  The DP was a bit more muted.  I took some gray chalk and rubbed the image to tone the white down some and did the same for the black card stock.  It helped them blend a bit better.  More so in person, than in picture.

Thanks to the DDD's for waiting for me.  I am excited that I can now go and check out their creations.   You know I have to wait until my card is completed to have the full experience!  LOL  You can see their work too.  Blog links are on the right side bar.

Have a great day!

Dueling Darlings - May

Spring has come and gone.   Just as everything seems so quick this year.  The Dueling Darlings went bird crazy in May.  I missed the fun, but am trying to keep up with my tardy post!

Heather, was our hostess and she send all types of bird fun.  There were many great things to choose from in the kit.  Thanks Heather!

I have not crafted in so long, I actually dug through my punch drawer and found a corner punch that I do not think I ever used.   I was trusting that I would not screw it up, as I really liked the DP Heather sent and wanted to use it!

I am glad to say, that those crazy robins that attacked our house finally moved on.   That was nuts!

I hope you all had a great spring.

Dueling Darlings - April

April Showers!  It is the theme for the April duel for the Dueling Darlings at SCS.  Boy, we have had a few showers here.   Spring has sprung, for sure!

Barb is the hostess for the Diva group.  We received an image from one of her favorite stamp companies, Whipper Snapper Design.  the image name is Umbrella & Slicker.

There was so much to create with in the kit!  I liked the larger umbrellas in this DP.  Oh and Kelly, I used a button!  Thank you for the kit, Barb.

So in addition to the spring rain, we have this crazy Robin that is driving me nuts.  An American songbird my.....   He keeps flying to the windows and pecking them.  I finally closed the shutters and he went away.  I tried to be nice and not tell him he is really fat!  Yep, back the next day on a different window.  Closed the shutters and he went away.  Today he went to every window for two hours.  I am trying to work at home and I have a fat robin pecking my windows.  He went away and came back with a friend!!!!  Robin and I had to have a talk.  I told him 'Listen Robin, I am on a conference call and you need to take your friend and chill."  No joke, he left.

I'll stick to umbrellas, thanks!
