Dueling Darlings - December

It is mid holiday season and mid month!  That means it is time for the Dueling Darlings on SCS to post their creations!  You will love what they have done.  Their blog links are on the right sidebar.

Our theme is a Christmas Story.  Kelly, is the hostess for the Divas this month.   She sent a  kit with so many cute things and two images to choose from!  So lucky!!!  Well, when I saw the chubby cheeks on this little angel from Inky Antics, I had to use this image.  There was plenty of supplies to make two of this card, so I did!  As usual, the Spica highlights did not photograph well!  LOL

We were asked to share a Christmas memory.  There are so many!  I will go with DH and my most recent flashback and conversation.   We had been discussing our first Christmas tree.  I think it was actually a tree top to be honest with you - that's what you get on the free tree day!  We finally got that tree up and it was precarious at best.  Oh, we were decked with a bunch of new ornaments and everything.  Pretty excited! Well, until I came home from work and found that our 'darling' kitten had knocked almost every ornament off the tree and smashed them to bits!   Shards of glass everywhere.  I do not know how she was not cut.  So, we had a half of a top of a tree with like a 255 inch base, but half ornaments too!  Then she friggin' knocked it down all the time.  We ended up securing it with fishing line.  What a cluster!  Funny now, but not so much then.  Oh, we have come a long way!

I hope you are enjoying the holiday season!

Thinking of You

We have the sweetest elderly couple that lives across the street.  He has Muscular Dystrophy, so cannot do a lot for their household.  We try to help when we can.  They have professional help that visits several times per week, but you know there is always something that needs to be done.   Like this week....our smoke alarm is chirping and it's 11:30pm.  I am leaving for dinner with my girlfriends and your garage door will not close, let me crawl in cute boots on your floor to try to fix it!  Why yes, I did just paint my nails in flash thinking they would dry on the drive to dinner!  LOL  I wouldn't have it any other way - I would want someone to help me out if I was to be in that situation, so it is not a big deal.

I was over this week and was so sad to find out that their beloved cat passed away.  I felt so bad for them.  They loved him very much.

So, when I came home to send them a card, I found that since I have been so busy these past months, I really have depleted my small stash of cards.  Time to rebuild!

I went totally retro.....super old Stampin' UP! set.  I really like this sentiment in the fact that it can encompass many situations and I like the layout with the font.  Then there is the DP.  It is one of my faves and I hate to see it go!  I had to laugh as it is vintage 2001 - just like the card earlier this week was - how odd is that?!   So, to rebuild, I made four of this card.

You know I like to listen to Pandora when I craft cards.  So, here I am in my office with Pandora One going.....turning it up a little more each song.  Then this song comes on, I start singing and then it hits me.  Really, I can't make this stuff up!   I mean I am creating sympathy cards here!  LOL  Then I watch this YouTube and only Freddie Mercury could be barefoot, wearing booty shorts and a trucker hat and you like it, with over 6 million views!  Did you know that Freddie had a four octave vocal range?

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Crafters of Faith - November

Hello Everyone!

I hope that you had a great Thanksgiving holiday.  The last day of November is our posting day for Crafters of Faith on SCS.

I am a tad bit late with my posting, I apologize.  I actually had my card started, but just was able to finish it.

Darlene, was our hostess for November.  She asked us to create a card that reminded us of innocence of childhood.

Since it was the harvest time of year, pumpkins came to mind.  It then brought me to when we used to carve pumpkins when I was little.  Now remember, my brother is several years older than I, so we were on much different deltas when it came to playing with knives.  Carving pumpkins meant that I could carve with knives.  Knives!  That was so not appropriate for my age.  My brother helped though.  My dad would scoop out the gick from the pumpkin as it creeped me out!  Of course it would ensue my brother chasing me with the gick and me screaming bloody murder between laughs.

I went searching through my image files.  I found this cute image.  The bear reminded me of my childhood bear, Mooshy Belly Bear.  Okay, I still have him!!!  Albeit, he is stuffed in a bin in storage, but he is big boy.  You just wanna hug him if you see him!

Since we are throwing back, I went with a DP that is way old.  Who knew that Bo Bunny was around in 2001!   That was the date on the back of this paper.   LOL  Talk about using what'cha got!

Please stop by the rest of the Crafter's blogs.  They are located on the right sidebar.  We have a few new members.  Welcome to them, and I cannot wait to see what they create.
