Card Kit Swap - Melina

Melina, sent me a bright and cheery kit in the Card Kit Swap 2014 on SCS.   It was full of bright papers, cool embellishments, a tag and some sunshine DP and a paper flower!  I wanted to use so much of the kit.

I have to admit that the image challenged me a bit.  It was a moose with wings.   I searched my sentiment stamps and could not find anything fitting for a flying moose.  I did not have time to change the paper in my printer to make my own. My scraps of camping themed paper did not match the colors of this kit, so that was out. I came to the conclusion he got in trouble and I took his wings away for this card only.  He will have to earn them back for the next card!  I added a touch of old school stamping and off we go.

Thank you for the kit, Melina.  I hope I did it a little justice!

Card Swap Kit - Terry

My girl Terry sent me the cutest card kit in 2014 for the Card Kit Swap on SCS.   The images and papers were so fun.  I had so many things to choose from!   I had to try to fit them into the card, I just had to!  I wish the photograph would have depicted the color of the socks a bit better.  It really is more of a greenish blue, but photographed really blue.

The sock theme makes me giggle, as my dad and I have found that my mom has an abnormal obsession with socks.  Like really....   Since my mom has been ill the past few years, she wears socks at home.  Holy night.   My dad and I were folding laundry and he quietly goes "Look at this"  and shows me her 'many' stash places for socks.   It is totally crazy!   There is every color, pattern, fuzziness (if that is even a word) you can think of.

So you know I have to run with it.   I will just randomly say, "Gosh, my feet are cold. Wish I had some socks!", or call her the Crazy Sock Lady, or Socks for short!  I think we all know where this card is going.

Have a great day!

Card Kit Swap - Jennifer

Hi!

The next kit up on the 'catch up' from the Card Kit Swap 2014 on SCS, is from Jennifer {Goldenbaby}.

I was gifted a cute card kit that had images that were an animated dragon and get well wishes.   I decided to work with one of the sentiments on this card and forgo the image.

The papers and colors were perfect in this kit!  I loved the ribbons and could pet that green fuzzy ribbon all day long! LOL  I added card stock, two flowers and a brad to the kit.  Thank you, Jennifer.

I hope you all have a good weekend!

Card Kit Swap - Pansy

Pansy, was so very generous with the card kit she sent to me in the Card Kit Swap 2014 on SCS.  No really, super generous!   Pansy, thank you.

I had mentioned that I like the Magnolia images.  I was gifted Tilda Winner.  I love her track suit and how her feet look big!  It reminded me of the Nelly Air Force One song and video.  You know you have to stomp your shoes a bit when you listen to it!  LOL

Have a great day~

Card Kit Swap - Darlene

I was able to work on another card kit from the Card Kit Swap 2014 on SCS.  I am getting there on working through the kits!

Darlene, gifted me a music themed kit.  There were so many things in the kit to spoil me!  Thank you, Darlene.  The image is from Darlene's favorite designer D. Morgan.

Me + shimmer + photography = no bueno!  Here is another 'shining' example! The silver dry embossed paper Darlene sent is so pretty.   The black ribbon has a great little sparkle to it - not too much and catches the light perfectly.  I used a simple Spica pen to give some silver highlights to the music notes.   My goodness this was the best I could do on the picture.   I also remember receiving that little music brad in a kit along the way and had to dig it out to use it.

I have a friend that sings.  Not like us belting out random stuff when we are making cards together, like honest to Pete singing.   This card is address to go to her in the mail today.

The music notes reminded me of classical music.   Sssshhhh don't tell, but I listed to Pandora station Classical Piano Solo when I am working on spreadsheets and contracts.   Somehow Brick House doesn't apply for that task....now you want to listen to Brick House don't ya?  Here you go!  This is classic Commodores.  Check out Lionel on the sax! LOL

Hope you all have a great day!

Dueling Darlings - February

The Dueling Darlings from SCS are ready for some fun.  The Dazzlers and the Divas have opened their card kits and are ready to duel!

The Divas received an adorable kit from, LJ.  In our monthly theme of 'umbrellas' this little cute image from Whipper Snapper Designs is just perfect!  Thank you for a great kit, LJ.

I decided to use Copic Markers on this image.  I also used Spica glitter pens on the white parts, that of course do not photograph well for me.  In person, there is a little shimmer on the white areas and around the cloud.  Love those pens!!!  The clean freak in me loves that there is no loose glittah!  I also like the subtle shimmer.  I added a little clear stamp sentiment from Hero Arts and this girl is ready to roll!

Please be sure and see what the other girls have created.  Their blog links are on the right sidebar.

Thank you, for stopping by!

Card Kit Swap - LJ

My girl LJ gifted me the most adorable card kit in our 2014 Card Kit Swap on SCS.  You should see all the cute Magnolia images, papers and ribbons....wow!

I used one of the two images to create this card.  I only added the card stock and a chipboard butterfly that I covered in DP.  LJ, remembered that I said I liked the Magnolia images.

Thank you LJ, for the great card kit and the rest of the group for waiting for my card to post.

Have a great day!

Card Kit Swap - Barb

I had so much fun being in the Card Kit Swap on SCS last year.   Unfortunately, life got in the way of crafting and I owe a lot of completed cards from some wonderful kits I received.   Sadly, I had to bow out of the group as it was not fair to stay and not create.   I am going to work through the kits and make fun cards with all the goodness received.

I kept the kits in order they were received.  First up is, Barb.  She sent me a great kit with some super matchy, matchy papers she knew I would love from Stamping' UP!.   Celeste Jet, is the image from Art Impressions.   She is super funny!

I met my girlfriends for Happy Hour last week.  We always have such a fun time.  We can get a little loud, so we chose an appropriate restaurant to meet at.  It only took two months this time to get everyone in the state/country and available to meet!

One of the girls had to get her first pair of glasses since we last met.  We were laughing so hard at her dilation story. I think you know where I am going with this - yep to the mail box with her name on the envie!  It made me thing of this song to listen to while I made the card - you might catch a new word or two in this version.  Enjoy!
